Tools and limits

Technical reference for the Canarionet MCP server. The tool names and descriptions below are the exact strings that your AI assistant receives.

Last updated: 2026-08-27

Server

https://api.canarionet.com/mcp
TransportStreamable HTTP (MCP revision 2026-07-28)
AuthenticationNone. Public, read-only data.
WritesNone. Every tool is read-only.

Tools

Six tools. The first two carry the names that deep research expects.

NamePurpose
searchRanked search across all nine topics. Returns an id for each result.
fetchReads one full record. Takes an id from search.
find_organisationsLists organisations with filters: area, verified, rating, open now.
list_eventsLists events by area and date range.
browse_taxonomyLists the real categories for one topic.
list_areasLists the islands, and the municipalities of one island.

Resource

The resource canarionet://about describes what the directory covers, the three languages, the attribution rules and the notes that keep answers correct.

Prompts

Four starter prompts, in Spanish, English and German. Your AI assistant shows them in its prompt list.

Rate limits

Limits are per minute and per IP address. The server answers with status 429 when you pass a limit.

ToolsPer minute
search, fetch, find_organisations, list_events60
browse_taxonomy, list_areas240

These limits are deliberately generous at the start. Write to us if your use needs more.

Attribution and reuse

Attribute the data as “Canarionet” and link to the specific page, not to the homepage. Some listings come from open public datasets and carry their own licence, which passes to you.
